A subdomain is the part of an address that appears before the main domain name and extension. For example, “abc.com” is the main domain and “blog.abc.com” is a subdomain. Search engines recognize the connection between them but generally treat the subdomain as a standalone website. Subdomains can serve many purposes and may also help strengthen the main domain.
