Generic Domains (gTLD)

A website's domain name should be distinctive and easy to remember. Domains formed from root noun phrases and words with clear dictionary definitions are called generic top-level domains, or gTLDs. For example, "fashion.com" combines a generic domain name with the generic ".com" extension. Both the name and extension should be generic. Other popular extensions include ".net" and ".org".
