A bounce occurs when a user leaves a web page without interacting with it or triggering another request to the Analytics server. Bounce rate is calculated by dividing single-page sessions by total sessions. A high rate may point to slow loading or a poor user experience, but it does not necessarily indicate a problem. Some visitors need only a brief piece of information and leave once they find it. Bounce rate should therefore be interpreted in the context of the page and its purpose.
