LSI (Latent semantic indexing)

Search engine bots crawl and index web pages one by one, then try to surface the most relevant ones in the index for a given query, using a range of methods and algorithms to do it. LSI is one of those methods: it examines the relationship between the keywords used in a page's content and the meaning behind them, then connects that meaning to user queries. With this method, Google aims to correctly associate the keywords or phrases used in the content with the keywords used in users' queries.
